This Tattoo Proposal is Definitely an Engagement to Remember

We really have seen it all now!

Vinny Capaldo Smith from Denver  is a professional tattoo artist, and his now fiance Brooke Wodark is not. Since he’s pretty passionate about his job and his art, it was only a matter of time before he convinced his lady love to try out some tattoo artistry.

Rather than let him decorate her body with some tattoo art however, Vinny had other ideas. He asked Brooke, who had never stuck a needle in anybody before let alone made a permanent mark on their skin, to give him a brand new tattoo! As any non-tattoo artist would be, she was terrified. So Vinny kept it simple and asked her to draw a little heart on his ankle. Once Brooke got her shaking hands under control, it was all good.

But then the story took a very romantic twist. The couple had been on a date a few months prior to the tattooing, and Brooke had drawn a cute illustration of the pair as stick figures, holding a balloon in the shape of a heart. It was on a napkin while they were in a restaurant, and it reminded them of passing notes in class as children.

Unknown to Brooke, Vinny also had this tattooed on his ankle before Brooke set to work, and added a little something extra below; the words ‘will you marry me?’ along with two check boxes; one for ‘yes’ and one for ‘no’. When Brooke finished up tattooing the heart, he pulled down his sock to reveal the real reason why he made her ink him and pulled out a ring too! Luckily, Brooke managed to mark the ‘yes’ box through tears of surprise and joy. Aww.

“I really didn’t see this coming at all which, looking back, I should have maybe expected a tattoo of some sort,” Brooke. “I had no idea it was going to happen that day. I was just over-the-top ecstatic. It was everything I ever wanted and more.”

So will they be getting engagement ring tattoos too? “I don’t know if she would tattoo her finger but I’ve thought about it,” said Vinny. “It would have to go over or around my other tattoos on my left finger.”

We have to admit, we like the way this guy thinks. Congrats Brooke and Vinny!
